Classes

Classes offered include beginning levels for those wanting to learn the manual alphabet, numbers, and basic vocabulary to a variety of intermediate and advanced levels for the experienced signer. These classes will focus on expanding sign vocabulary as well as expressive and receptive skills.   

Beginning Courses

This is a 4-level course designed to introduce the principles of SEE, the manual alphabet, numbers, and basic sign vocabulary. Each 8-week session will focus on sign vocabulary needed for basic communication skills. 

Beginning Level 1

Recommended for new signers or those who have knowledge of fewer than 50 SEE signs.

Beginning Level 2

Recommended for those who have a working knowledge of approximately 300 SEE signs.

Beginning Level 3

Recommended for those who have a working knowledge of approximately 600 SEE signs.

Beginning Level 4

Recommended for those who have a working knowledge of approximately 900 SEE signs.

Intermediate Level

These courses will focus on vocabulary expansion using word lists that include groups of “Family of Signs” from the SEE dictionary. Practice sentences and paragraphs will be used to improve expressive and receptive skills. 

Level 1 is designed for signers with a sign base of at least 1200 SEE signs.

Level 2 is recommended for those with a sign base of at least 1500 SEE signs.

Level 3 is recommended for those with a sign base of at least 1800SEE signs.

Level 4 is recommended for those with a sign base of at least 2000 SEE signs. 

Advanced Level

This course continues to expand sSEE sign vocabulary and improve exprssive and receptive skills.
